I am pleased to share some exciting golf business news from South Korea, specifically about Woo Jeong Hills Country Club, located in South Chungcheong, roughly 90 minutes from Seoul.
This remarkable venue (7225 yards), designed by Perry Dye and opened in 1993, has established itself as a challenging and prestigious location for golf tournaments, having hosted the Korea Open multiple times.
It’s a fantastic spot for golf enthusiasts seeking to experience a well-designed course in a beautiful setting.

The Dye Designs Group has begun a project to update all 18 greens at South Korea’s Woo Jeong Hills Country Club.
Owned by KOLON Industries, one of the country’s leading textile and chemical manufacturers, Woo Jeong Hills was designed by the late Perry Dye and opened in 1992.
Cynthia Dye McGarey and her son Matt McGarey of Dye Designs Group are taking on an exciting project to redesign and enhance the 18 greens and two practice greens at the course.
Construction commenced in late December and is anticipated to be completed by the end of March, aiming to elevate the overall playing experience.
The work is scheduled to be finished in time for member play in late Spring 2025. Woo Jeong Hills has hosted the prestigious KOLON Korea Open, an Asian Tour event, since 2003.
As part of the Open Qualifying Series, the winner and runner-up of the KOLON Korea Open have received exemptions into the Open Championship.
Past tournament winners at Woo Jeong Hills include Vijay Singh, John Daly, Rickie Fowler, Y.E. Yang and K.H. Lee.
