I have come across a few educational programs as transformative as the Design Boot Camp, which will take place at Pinehurst Resort next March (March 9-13, 2026). Soon, I’ll share more details with you.
It is especially inspiring that Bill Coore, an ASGCA associate from Coore & Crenshaw Golf Course Architects, will be sharing his valuable insights and experiences as part of the program.
The five-day session—a remarkable fundraising initiative of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) Foundation—invites aspiring golf course designers and architecture enthusiasts to engage closely with nine esteemed architects on a unique site:
- Jan Bel Jan, ASGCA
- Jeff Blume, ASGCA
- Jeff Brauer, ASGCA
- Bruce Charlton, ASGCA
- Steve Forrest, ASGCA
- Dr. Mike Hurdzan, ASGCA
- Tom Marzolf, ASGCA
- Damian Pascuzzo, ASGCA

In the field, participants will immerse themselves in the study of the site, thoughtfully crafting a layout and designing holes that celebrate the unique beauty of the Sandmines property.
This program also includes rounds of golf on the legendary Pinehurst No. 2 and The Cradle.
Design Boot Camp is an incredible opportunity for passionate individuals who dream of shaping golf holes into art and are determined to elevate their architectural journey to the next level.
Price
The investment is $20,000 per person, with $15,000 qualifying for a charitable tax deduction to the ASGCA Foundation (501c3 EIN: 23-7385866).
The enrollment fee includes a comprehensive package that covers all necessary materials and supplies for the Design Boot Camp.
Participants will enjoy comfortable lodging at the historic Holly Inn, conveniently situated in the heart of the Village of Pinehurst.
Meals and beverages are provided, along with golf, caddies, gratuities, special gifts, and mementos to commemorate the experience.
Please note that participation is limited to 16 enrollees to ensure an intimate and engaging atmosphere.
This foundation plays a vital role in supporting projects and organizations that enhance public and municipal golf courses, such as Clearview Golf Club in East Canton, Ohio.
Additionally, it supports programs that aim to inspire, develop, and empower the next generation of industry leaders.
Your contribution not only fosters the growth of golf but also helps cultivate future talent.
