In July 2023, I shared some exciting updates about the Bonita Bay Club‘s ambitious plans. For those who may have missed it, here’s a brief overview to bring you up to speed.
The Board approved in 2022 extensive upgrades and improvements to their
- Sabal Course,
- Naples Clubhouse,
- practice facilities, and
- the addition of 2 new golf performance centers.
Here are the results!
A $12 million clubhouse
They built a $12 million clubhouse on the footprint of the former building on the Naples campus, creating a new dining room and bar, locker rooms, and retail shop.
D. Garrett Construction and AM Design Group developed the newly rebuilt Naples Clubhouse. It now boasts a modern, open design featuring large glass walls that provide stunning views of the surrounding landscapes and the 18th holes of the Cypress and Sabal courses.
Inside, the decor combines neutral tones with natural wood and stone accents, creating a warm, sophisticated atmosphere.
The reimagined dining areas embrace both indoor and outdoor seating, allowing members to enjoy Florida’s year-round sunshine.
Seating capacity has grown to 84 outdoors and 60 indoors, with another 21 seats wrapped around a four-sided bar featuring eight big-screen televisions.
The Pro Shop has been upgraded to include enhanced views, improved access, and a new fitting room. The locker rooms now conveniently feature direct access from the cart staging area.
Redefined golf experience
The 14-acre golf practice facility has undergone a $2 million renovation on the same campus. Improvements includes
- enhanced fairway cuts to mimic tee shots found on the courses,
- a wedge-specific area with multiple greens at short yardage,
- an enlarged short-game practice area, and
- a new practice putting green for the Sabal Golf Course.
The Tom Fazio-designed Sabal Golf Course undergone a $16.5 million renovation, touching all features on the course—from drainage to greens.
Sabal Golf Course is a member-friendly golf course located near a wildlife preserve. It features five par 5s and five par 3s, providing a unique playing experience compared to the nearby Cypress Course.
The Cypress Course underwent renovations in 2022 and was recognized by Golf Inc. in the Private Club category of the magazine’s 2023 Renovation of the Year competition.
