During BTME, various engaging events contributed to a vibrant festival atmosphere throughout the week.

Key organizations, including The R&A, Bernhard and Company, and ICL, hosted noteworthy activities, while the Golf Environment Awards recognized excellence in the field.

In collaboration with Kress, the BIGGA Celebration highlighted the achievements of the year’s BIGGA Awards winners.

Furthermore, the Syngenta-sponsored Early Bird Run raised £810 for the Greenkeepers’ Benevolent Fund.

The Monster Putt event, organized with Huxley Golf, generated an impressive £957 for BIGGA’s charity, which provides vital support to members and their families in need.

BIGGA BTME 2025-3

At the BTME event, the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA) introduced an ambitious three-pronged strategy to strengthen its influence in the golf industry.

This constructive initiative was shaped by insights from a recent membership survey and a detailed consultation period, reflecting the needs and aspirations of its members.

By implementing this focused strategy, BIGGA aims to enhance its effectiveness as a champion for members on an international scale while actively fostering their professional growth and aspirations.

The key strategic pillars are:

  • Increasing membership numbers as a unified greenkeeping community is better able to influence the sport of golf positively.
  • Increase engagement in BIGGA activity and evolve the membership offer to ensure all members, at every stage of their career, can get involved, become better educated, and progress through their careers.
  • Advancing BIGGA’s advocacy efforts to positively influence the governance structure within golf facilities, ensuring greenkeepers are recognized as critical to the sport’s success.

These strategic pillars will guide BIGGA’s initiatives in the upcoming period. I will update you as soon as I get more information.
