This news is significant as Germany experienced the most substantial increase in registered golfers, rising from 683,000 to 725,000 in 2024 (Source: The R&A: European Golf Participation 2024).

The German Golf Association reported 686,708 golfers in Germany in 2024.

Golf is the 8th most prominent sport in Germany. This makes Germany the #2 European golf country.

The leading five markets in Europe for registered golfers, namely England (763,850 registered golfers), Germany, Sweden, France, and the Netherlands, all recorded increases compared to the previous year.

According to the above-mentioned report in Europe in 2023:

  • 4.7M registered golfers,
  • 8.4M unregistered 9&18-hole golfers;
  • 19.7M adults engaged in golf.

This strategic partnership represents a significant advancement in professional development opportunities for golf management professionals in the D-A-CH region.

Through this agreement, all GMVD members (730+) will automatically gain CMAE membership, unlocking a wealth of educational resources, networking opportunities, and career development tools.

A standout feature of this collaboration is GMVD members’ access to the Management Development Programme (MDP) offered by CMAE.

This structured learning framework is crafted to elevate the skills and expertise of club industry professionals.

The MDP serves as a global pathway for club management education, delivering top-notch training across 11 core competencies essential for effective club management.

This partnership between the two associations aims to empower members to enhance their careers and foster excellence in golf club management throughout Germany.
