Hiring a third-party golf club management company is a significant decision for a golf club.

We hope their extensive expertise in key areas, such as golf club management, agronomy, marketing, food and beverage, etc., will help us find solutions to our issues and increase revenues.

Ideally, these objectives should adhere to the principles of S.M.A.R.T. goals, which are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound.

Determining these parameters in relation to one’s goals ensures that objectives are achievable within a stipulated time frame.

First Tee Greater Charlotte Donation Troon

The situation in Mecklenburg County serves as a notable illustration of effective collaboration.

In the 15 months since Mecklenburg County appointed Troon to manage its four golf courses in the Charlotte area, the partnership has proven beneficial for the community under the terms of a potential 20-year agreement.

Significant capital investments made by both the County and Troon to enhance course conditions, improve clubhouse and practice facilities, upgrade maintenance equipment and golf carts, elevate service levels, and implement strategic marketing initiatives have resulted in an

  • average increase of 12.4% in rounds played (compared to 2023) and
  • a 22.6% rise in revenues (compared to 2023).

In addition, Troon recently made a $128,151 donation to the First Tee of Greater Charlotte to fund programming for kids and teens as outlined in the agreement, as part of the 501(c)3 organization.
