In 2025, the hospitality industry is undergoing a transformative wave of guest experience innovations, centered on personalization, technology integration, and sustainability.
Elevating the guest experience transcends basic hospitality, as each enhancement meets immediate needs while nurturing loyalty and inspiring positive reviews.
Golfers now seek seamless, technology-enabled experiences; offering a navigation system in a golf cart is no longer an extraordinary feature, but rather a fundamental expectation in this new era.

Sustainability is becoming an essential element of golf club operations in 2025, rather than just a trendy concept.
Guests are increasingly looking for eco-friendly golf clubs that prioritize minimizing their environmental impact, making it crucial for clubs to adopt sustainable practices.
By focusing on sustainability, golf clubs can enhance their appeal to guests while making a positive contribution to the environment.
In recent years, I have discovered two inspiring solutions that have the potential to elevate the golf cart experience and create new revenue opportunities for golf clubs:
- IOTee: is a keyless, IoT-powered golf cart fleet management solution. IOTee empowers your guests to hire golf carts at their convenience, boosting your revenue and maximizing the turnover of your fleet.
- ClubGrub: it is a GPS-enabled mobile ordering platform that enables golfers to order food and drink during their game. The integration of ClubGrub streamlines the ordering process by eliminating the need for phone orders, thereby reducing delays in the pace of play and enhancing the club’s five-star hospitality experience.
South Africa’s newest golf destination, Zimbali Lakes Resort, is enhancing the experience for both members and guests by collaborating with Club Car to supply a fleet of golf carts.

The prestigious Zimbali Lakes Resort has recently unveiled the 18-hole Ernie Els Signature Course, adding to its impressive amenities, which include
- a beach club, sports club, and
- a diverse range of luxury homes set across 300 hectares of land and wetlands, just 25 miles north of Durban.
To support this, the resort has acquired 50 high-spec Club Car Tempo golf carts through AFGRI, the official Club Car distributor in South Africa.
These carts are equipped with advanced features, including the Visage navigation system, comfortable seating, and efficient lithium-ion batteries.
Zimbali Lakes Resort joins three other top South African golf venues in choosing Club Car as their golf cart supplier.
Ruimsig Country Club, located on the outskirts of Johannesburg, switched from a competitor brand.
At the same time, Arabella Hotel Golf & Spa in the Western Cape and Cotswolds Downs Golf and Country Estate, another venue near Durban, reaffirmed their loyalty to Club Car.
My comments
A golf club’s golf cart fleet has the potential to become a true revenue center, all while enhancing the guest experience.
With a modest investment, turning the operation of a golf cart fleet into a profitable venture is entirely within reach.
