I discovered some remarkable and eye-opening statistics about ovarian cancer, and I’m excited to share them here.
According to the projections presented by Globocan for the year 2022, it is anticipated that by the year 2050, the incidence of ovarian cancer diagnosed in women globally will increase by over 55%, reaching a total of 503,448 cases.
Furthermore, the annual mortality rate for ovarian cancer is expected to rise significantly, with projections estimating that approximately 350,956 women will succumb to the disease each year, representing an increase of nearly 70% compared to the figures recorded in 2022.

Troon‘s contribution to the cause
Throughout September, which is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, Troon and its affiliated facilities across the U.S. are taking proactive steps to raise funds for ovarian cancer research and awareness.
To highlight this critical cause, Troon-affiliated golf properties will proudly display teal checkered flags on their 18th greens, serving as a visual reminder of the fight against ovarian cancer.
The facilities will conduct a variety of fundraising activities in support of Teal Wings of Hope, a dedicated nonprofit organization focused on raising awareness and funding crucial research for ovarian cancer.
Additionally, Troon facilities will feature prominent QR codes in golf shops and clubhouses, allowing guests and members to make direct contributions to Teal Wings of Hope.
To further engage the community, courses will also organize regular par-three challenges, with all proceeds directed toward supporting Teal Wings of Hope.
