As the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship prepares to open the DP World Tour Play-Offs from November 6–9, the DP World Tour is celebrating a powerful new chapter in its sustainability journey.
For the first time in the history of the Rolex Series, every tournament venue on the schedule will be GEO Certified®.
This landmark achievement underscores the Tour’s long-term commitment to responsible and sustainable golf.
This certification is more than a badge. GEO Certified®, assured and awarded by the GEO Sustainable Golf Foundation, is the leading international standard for sustainability in golf.
It recognises venues that show authentic, measurable leadership in key areas such as
- ecosystem protection,
- efficient resource use,
- reduced carbon impact, and
- positive community engagement.

A Season Built on Sustainable Success
Earlier this year, three of the Rolex Series’ most iconic tournaments were already held at GEO Certified® venues:
- Hero Dubai Desert Classic – Emirates Golf Club
- Genesis Scottish Open – The Renaissance Club
- BMW PGA Championship – Wentworth Club
Now, as the season progresses into its final stages, two more world-class venues are completing this historic lineup:
- Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship – Yas Links Abu Dhabi
- DP World Tour Championship – Jumeirah Golf Estates
The milestone was officially sealed when Yas Links Abu Dhabi achieved GEO Certified® status in early 2025, becoming the final venue needed to align the entire Rolex Series schedule.
A Meaningful Step Toward Golf’s Greener Future
This achievement is more than a collection of certified facilities. It represents:
- A shared commitment across golf’s most prestigious tournament venues
- A model for sport-led environmental leadership on a global stage
- A tangible step forward in addressing climate impact across professional golf

It also reinforces the DP World Tour’s position as the only professional golf tour dedicated to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, driven through its Golf for Good program and Green Drive sustainability initiative.
From renewable energy practices and habitat enhancement to water stewardship and local community outreach, these GEO Certified® venues demonstrate how major sporting events can deliver unforgettable experiences while protecting the environments that make them possible.
More Than a Milestone — A Movement
Sustainable golf is not just about the courses. It’s about changing the game’s culture.
The Rolex Series’ commitment shows that elite competition and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand — setting a new global benchmark for professional sport.
The DP World Tour is proving that the future of golf is not just exciting and competitive — it’s sustainable, forward-thinking, and deeply connected to the world we all share.
