Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist has been named the European Captain for the 2026 Solheim Cup. The club will be held at Bernardus Golf (designed by Kyle Phillips) in the Netherlands from September 7-13, 2026.

Since its opening in 2018, Bernardus Golf has hosted three editions of the KLM Dutch Open on the DP World Tour (2021-2023).

Anna is no stranger to this prestigious event, having served as vice-captain in both 2023 and 2024. This marks her ninth time representing Europe in the Solheim Cup.

In nine instances, the European team, with Anna Nordqvist, has successfully secured victory in the Solheim Cup five times (2023, 2021, 2019, 2013, and 2011).

She has achieved remarkable success as a three-time major winner

She has an impressive record of six LPGA and four LET titles, including a noteworthy victory at the 2022 Dutch Ladies Open.

Alexandra Armas, Chief Executive Officer of the Ladies European Tour, commented

“We are delighted to announce Anna as our Captain for the 2026 Solheim Cup. She has been such an important member of the European team over the years – both on and off the course – and she was excellent in the role of playing vice-captain last year.

She has been a wonderful ambassador for European golf throughout her career, both as an individual and as part of the team, and I can tell you that the news of this appointment will no doubt be extremely popular amongst the players.”
