Rory McIlroy has achieved significant success in the DP World Tour Championships, securing the title three times to date:
- 2024: Won with a total score of 273 (−15), edging out Rasmus Højgaard by two strokes. This secured his third DP World Tour Championship title and his record-tying sixth Race to Dubai (Order of Merit) crown.

From November 13-16, he is set to return to Jumeirah Golf Estates to defend his title at the DP World Tour Championship, which is part of the season-ending Rolex Series event.
He is set to spend two weeks in the United Arab Emirates after confirming his participation in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, which marks the first event of the DP World Tour Play-Offs.
His qualification for both season-ending events stems from impressive performances, including

- a 4th-place finish at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic,
- a tied 2nd-place finish at the Genesis Scottish Open, and
- a tied 7th-place finish at The 153rd Open Championship, held at Royal Portrush.
