What exciting golf experience can Topgolf Glasgow offer this fall?

Do you remember when Callaway Golf hosted a 9-hole golf experience at The Links at Petco Park in 2015?

This was the first thing that came to mind when I read that Topgolf Glasgow will launch its new Field Goal Challenge game this fall.

The Topgolf Field Goal Challenge is inspired by American football.

This new game lets you test your skills by sending golf balls soaring through virtual goalposts. It’s the perfect way to show off your swing and aim while having a blast with friends!

In this game, your main goal is to hit the sweet spot and split the uprights by getting your ball through the digital goalposts.

You can jump into the action with two play modes: Free Play and The Challenge.

In Free Play, you can choose from five different distances to practice your shots, or if you’re feeling competitive, challenge yourself in The Challenge mode!

You’ll have 10 shots to get five balls through the goalposts at varying distances.

The launch coincides with the kickoff of the American football season in both the UK and the US, presenting an exciting opportunity for fans in Glasgow to engage with the sport uniquely.

Whether you’re a seasoned fan or exploring a new recreational activity, the Field Goal Challenge encourages a spirited and enjoyable atmosphere that promotes friendly competition and creates memorable experiences for everyone involved.

What makes the new Field Goal Challenge game special?

  • Using goalposts rather than round or target shapes is quite different. Most Topgolf games involve hitting towards target circles, rings, or zones. This one uses the imagery and structure of an American football field goal. That gives a fresh visual and a challenging twist.
  • The idea of splitting uprights introduces a narrower margin of error, likely more precision-focused.
  • The Challenge mode (10 shots to get 5 through at varied distances) forces both consistency and adaptability.
  • Free Play with selectable yardages gives flexibility for players to warm up or try different distances without the competitive pressure.
  • Its uniqueness is strongest from the perspective of someone used to the standard Topgolf games: this one feels like a crossover between golf and football.
