What is the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship’s formula for superb entertainment?

By: October 9, 2025

We are currently experiencing a fundamental shift in how sports, such as golf tournaments, are enjoyed, played, monetized, and experienced.

Fans have transitioned from passive spectators to active participants who engage more regularly and deliberately.

These evolving control and engagement dynamics are now crucial, not optional, for individuals and organizations aiming to build meaningful connections and create significant impacts with their key stakeholders.

Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship with entertainment opportunities in 2025

Some flagship events are evolving into multi-day, festival-style experiences. Golf events are increasingly featuring comprehensive musical entertainment before, during, or after play.

For example, The Dutch, a private club in the Netherlands, hosted The Dutch Futures on the HotelPlanner Tour—formerly the Challenge Tour—and organized the Festival of Golf.

Held from August 21st to 24th, 2025, this four-day event blended an international professional golf tournament with a festival vibe, including music, food, and entertainment. Here are some examples:

  • Interactive golf challenges (longest drive, nearest to the pin, putting), clinics for various levels.
  • Many activities are aimed at young people, including youth Pro-Am, training sessions (regional training), etc. Children up to age 12 attend for free; special tickets are available for ages 12–18.

I think it was a great concept to make golf more inclusive, less formal, and more of an experience beyond just “golf tournament”.

I believe the organizers of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, which will take place from November 6 to 9 at Yas Links Abu Dhabi, share a similar approach to the organizers of the Festival of Golf.

This year, the tournament marks its 20th edition, featuring live entertainment and fun for the whole family, with a packed program of activities and themed days.

Spectators are invited to experience so much more than golf, as the vibrant Championship Village comes alive with opportunities for everyone to enjoy delicious food and drink, engage in interactive golf challenges, watch live screens, and be inspired by performances throughout the day.

The village will host daily Trick Shot shows from the Trick Shot Boys, along with invigorating Get Into Golf sessions on the Driving Range.

Experience the vibrant Future Falcons Zone, filled with

  • family fun,
  • skills challenges,
  • arts and crafts,
  • puppet shows,
  • jugglers,
  • mime artists,
  • face painting, and
  • a bouncy castle.

The roaming DXBrass Band and a captivating cast of costumed performers will fill Yas Links with color and energy, while fans can dive into pizza-making classes throughout the weekend.

As the sun sets, the celebration continues with live performances from beloved regional artists, including Three Down on Thursday, Shades of Jade on Friday, The Boxtones on Saturday, and LDN Romantic on Sunday.

Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship returns

The rhythm picks up with DJ Green (Friday) and DJ Naomi (Saturday) at the Championship Village, while DJ Hallahan keeps the music alive in the Ticket+ Bar on Nine.

Adding an extra layer of brilliance, Saturday, 8 November, will shine as Ladies’ Day, a delightful merge of golf, glamour, and great company.

All women attending will receive two complimentary drinks on arrival, setting the stage for a day filled with live music, entertainment, golf, and a sprinkle of magic from the on-site glitter station.

Additional entertainment choices
  • Saturday will also feature the Future Falcons Challenge Prize-Giving in the afternoon, celebrating the next generation of golfing talent.
  • On Sunday, November 9, Family Fun Day will bring the Championship to a close in true style, offering something special for every age group. Children can enjoy free ice pops upon arrival (subject to availability) before exploring a range of interactive experiences.
  • The Future Falcons Zone promises to be a lively and engaging space, offering a variety of activities, including a bouncy castle, arts and crafts, face painting, puppet shows, and juggling performances. Parents and children can enhance their skills at the golf simulators or take part in putting challenges. Additionally, a diverse selection of food and drink trucks, complemented by designated family zones, will foster a welcoming and inclusive environment, making it an ideal way to end the week on a high note.
