What expectations did the new Titleist GT280 mini driver strive to meet?

By: April 2, 2025

Titleist introduces the all-new GT280, the latest addition to Titleist’s GT metalwood family. This mini driver is designed for both distance, control off the tee, and playability on the turf. It harnesses advanced technology from Titleist’s GT driver and fairway lineups.

Engineered to provide more length and forgiveness than a fairway metal while being easier to control and more versatile than a driver.

The Titleist GT280 offers players a unique set of performance characteristics compared to earlier Titleist metalwoods.

The Titleist GT280 showcases an innovative Seamless Thermoform Crown, crafted from the same Proprietary Matrix Polymer (PMP) used in GT driver crowns.

This thoughtful design contributes to significant weight savings and preserves Titleist’s renowned sound and feel, which players prefer.

Additionally, the mini driver incorporates advanced forward/aft weighting adjustability, similar to the GT4 driver, providing fitters and golfers with two distinct center-of-gravity settings to optimize performance.

The forged L-Cup face design is specifically engineered to enhance performance on strikes that occur low on the face. The profile features a lower leading edge, improving playability from the turf.

The model features a 280cc head volume strategically positioned between the head volumes of GT drivers and GT fairway metals.

The Titleist GT280 offers a loft of 13 degrees. Its stock shaft length is 43.5 inches (cca. 110.49cm), which is intentionally designed to be two inches shorter than the standard GT driver shaft length.

Golf enthusiasts can look forward to the Titleist GT280 as it is now available for fitting and pre-sale, with a broader release in golf shops worldwide starting Friday, April 18.
