Toptracer, the world’s leading range technology and official ball tracking provider for The Open, announced that the renowned site of the 2025 Championship, Royal Portrush, is now accessible on its platform at golf ranges worldwide.

Royal Portrush, recognized as one of the finest courses in the world, is set to captivate sports enthusiasts when it hosts golf’s original championship this July.
Golfers will have the unique opportunity to experience the entire layout virtually and put their skills to the test against the world’s best players.
From July 14 – 20, Toptracer will host a Global Challenge, inviting everyone to play Royal Portrush at any of their partner ranges for a chance to win exciting prizes.
Golf club promotion via Toptracer and smartwatches
One of the interesting projects I undertook last year was promoting the Hungarian Balaton Golf Club to international golf tourists.
As part of my initial steps, I updated the golf club information in Garmin and the Hole19 mobile app.
Then I thought how great it would be if foreign golfers could learn about this Hungarian golf course—and hopefully be inspired to visit—while using Toptracer or another similar driving range technology at their home club.
This creates a true win-win situation, since Toptracer also benefits from offering as many golf courses as possible.
Unfortunately, the Hungarian golf club was unable to afford this investment.
Have you already considered this approach? What are your experiences?
It’s a shame I didn’t discover the following last year. Garmin smartwatches themselves do not display advertisements.
They are primarily fitness trackers and smartwatches that focus on health and activity tracking.
However, the Garmin Connect app, which manages the watch data and settings, does show ads in its web version. These ads appear on the homepage, activity pages, and training status pages.
What other communication channels have you used to effectively reach potential golfers?
