I have to be honest, I was a bit unsure when I first heard about the new Scotty Cameron Studio Xperimental Limited Putters.
I thought they were only making some minor style changes. But then I took a closer look at the Scotty Cameron Studio Xperimental Limited Squareback 2 (and its buddy, the Fastback 2) putters, and I realized they bring way more to the table than just good looks.
Let me share why I’m so impressed!

What they offer beyond aesthetics
Moving from mere visuals to performance-oriented engineering:
- Multi-material construction: The heads combine a milled 303 stainless-steel body with a 6061 aluminium sole component.
- Benefit: This allows weight to be moved low/away from the face (via the aluminium), boosting MOI (moment of inertia)—the result: better stability through the stroke, less twisting if you don’t hit perfectly.
- Chain-link face-milling + Studio Carbon Steel (SCS) insert: The face insert is black-nickel-plated SCS steel, with a chain-link milling pattern.
- Benefit: The chain-link pattern is designed to reduce “touch points” at impact, helping deliver a more authentic roll and improved ball-contact feedback. In other words: less skidding/slipping on impact, more immediate roll, and better feel.
- Custom graphite, counter-balanced shaft: This is a non-traditional feature for putters from this brand.
- Benefit: The counter-balance and graphite material increase stability through the stroke and optimize the “balance feel” of the putter. A more consistent tempo and feel can improve control of face angle and roll.
- I-beam plumbing neck + alignment sightlines: Both models feature a precision-milled I-beam plumbing neck and “short, precision-milled parallel sight-lines” on the topline for alignment.
- Benefit: The neck style and alignment aids help players consistently square the face and set up with the ball in the proper position relative to the sweet spot. Better setup and face control result in more consistent putts.
- Durable, glare-resistant finish: The “Steel Gray” PVD finish is more than aesthetic—it’s functional.
- Benefit: Minimising glare and distracting reflections, especially in bright conditions, helps improve focus at address and reduces visual “noise”.

The Scotty Cameron Studio Xperimental Limited Squareback 2 and Fastback 2 putters will be available in select Titleist golf shops worldwide on Friday, October 31, 2025, while supplies last—price: $850.
