Loch Lomond, once famous for its exceptional malt whiskies, has adapted and now produces remarkable grain whiskies as well.
This transformation, driven by Exponent Private Equity’s vision, allows the brand to achieve new heights.
They harness the artistry of traditional pot stills, innovative straight-neck pot stills, and continuous column stills, crafting a remarkable array of whisky styles.
Loch Lomond Whiskies has made a commendable impact in golf sponsorship, proudly serving as “The Spirit of The Open” since 2018.
In celebration of their ongoing partnership with The R&A, they have taken an exciting step this year by introducing two new limited-edition single malts, commemorating The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush.

The Open Course Collection 2025
The Open Course Collection 2025 is a remarkable 22-year-old single malt whisky expertly aged in American oak barrels and hogsheads and then finished in hand-selected first-fill Spanish oak casks.
This finishing process pays homage to La Girona, the Spanish Armada ship that tragically sank off the coast of Royal Portrush in 1588.
Crafted with Loch Lomond’s distinctive straight-neck stills, this whisky reveals an enticing medley of cinnamon, spice, fruit, honey, and a gentle touch of smoke.
In contrast, The Open Course Special Edition 2025 delves into the impact of Tuscan Chianti wine casks on Loch Lomond’s hallmark flavor profile.
After being finished for eight months in first-fill Chianti casks, it emerges with an added layer of richness, highlighting luscious red fruit flavors, honey, peach, and delicate oak tannins.
Both expressions were developed by Scottish golf legend and Loch Lomond Whiskies ambassador Colin Montgomerie, who proudly signs each pack.
The Open Course Collection 2025 (RRP £250) and The Open Course Special Edition 2025 (RRP £45) are now available.
