Why golf spike matters so much?

After a long debate on spikeless golf shoes, let's talk about golf shoes with spikes. FootJoy has a good reason to be happy again. Their brand ambassador D.A. Points claims Shell Houston Open title and the Trophée Hassan II. He played in FootJoy XPS-1 (see picture below).

The new FootJoy XPS-1 is still low-key and conservative, but I can see a slight move toward a more loose style. OK, it is still far from Cobra Golf's or Nike Golf's style. When we are talking about tour players' golf shoes usally 3 golf spikes are mentioned Champ's ScorpionStinger, Softspikes Black Widow Tour and Softspikes Pulsar Golf Spikes.

However in this new model of FootJoy XPS-1 we can find Softspikes cyclone ice golf cleats. Unlike in other golf cleats in this one the legs are moving as we are turning during our golf swing

Here come my doubts:

  • whether the spikes will not loose during the game? –> destabilizing our golf swing??
  • wouldn't it be better with Softspikes Pulsar that offer more insert systems?
  • why can't we see a golf cleat built-in solution?
