In 2012 I wrote about why should the golf industry adapt the concept of crowdsourcing to generate more ideas for product development and to drive higher customer engagement. For golf mobile application development I found several good examples of crowdfunding.
In case of Cleveland wedges I found a customization opportunity last year that is a good starting point for further cooperation between customers and Cleveland Golf.
Now Wilson Staff made a smart decision and launched a crowdsourcing campaign where they ask golfers to design Wilson Staff's new golf bag. We can submit our design ideas until February 5, 2014 (I think it is better to submit before February 2014).
Judges will select finalists based on current fashion trends, global marketability, appeal to both the male and female consumer as well as color compatibility. They will then be released and voted on by the public via various social media platforms.
