It seems to me that Quinta do Lago's €29m investment programme brought it's first awards. Part of this program was the modernization an facelifting (worth of €9.6m) of Quinta do Lago's North Course by Paul McGinley with Beau Welling.
Quinta do Lago, the leading European luxury family resort won the 1st World Golf Awards (aka the Oscars of the golf tourism industry). Quinta do Lago was also selected as the best golf resort in Portugal for the first time in its history at the 2015 Today’s Golfer Travel Awards.

Quinta do Lago also signed an exclusive agreement with England Golf to be the new winter training base for its national squads. England Golf has agreed an exclusive 4-year deal with Quinta do Lago to host its men’s, ladies, boys and girls elite squads during two months of the closed season, and players from the England men’s and ‘A’ squads had the chance to enjoy the resort’s array of five-star facilities during two recent training camps.
The resort also enhanced its practice capabilities by opening the world's only Paul McGinley Golf Academy and a TaylorMade Performance Center (the only of its kind in Southern Europe). TaylorMade opened its center in May 2013.
