In last October I wrote that ecommerce specialist Lee Brown and retail expert Peter Riordan has joined Direct Golf. Now I can tell that the golf industry excutive Rob Andrew joins Direct Golf as a member of the senior management team as the director of purchasing and procurement. Andrew previous was American Golf's club buyer for 5 years.
The current purchasing director James Toase move to the role of direct sales director, togerther with Lee Brown he will focus solely on Direct Golf's digital offering.
This kind of talent acquisition would not be achievable without the substantial investment from Sports Direct last year. Direct Golf has an ambitious plan. They plan to open 20 new stores by 2018 and a new website in spring 2015.
This might not be a mission impossible if Direct Golf will be able continue their success of 2014 where the sales grew by 39% via Direct Golf's e-commerce platform and by 14% in their retails stores. The margin has also increased in both sales channels.
