GAME GOLF Tracking mobile application goes live

By: April 18, 2015

We are entering into a new stage of war between Arccos Golf and Game Golf. It seems to me that Game Golf understood the recent mobile usage trend, namely we prefer mobile applications over typing website URLs. This week Game Golf has launched Game Golf Tracking mobile application.

The GAME GOLF Tracking App provides golfers with an aerial view of each hole, distances to key locations using the GPS Rangefinder feature, and the ability to ‘tag’ each shot by selecting the club used.  Golfers will be able to see – greens in regulations, fairway accuracy, scrambling percentage, putts per hole, club distances and more, and can view their platform profile and data on their mobile device or at Gamegolf.com.

In celebration of GAME GOLF’s newest free app and its Irish roots, the company is giving away a once-in-a-lifetime Irish golf vacation. Two players, who post a minimum of three 18-hole golf rounds with either the GAME GOLF wearable device or the new GAME GOLF Tracking App from now through June 30, 2015, will be eligible to receive an all-expense paid golf trip to Ireland for them and one guest each.

My questions:

  • Would it make the ($199) price more reasonable and sufficient differentiating factor?
  • Can we expect more sales due to this mobile application?
  • Is it good if we provide all of the features immediately or should we give some basic features and sell the rest of them to the users?

I think Game Golf should find the way to connect our everyday life with our golf activity to become integral part of our life (see Apple Watch). Arccos Golf once again will be one step beyond by launching Apple Watch app on April 24.
