Magnolia Green Golf Club (owned by iStar Financial who purchased he mostly undeveloped 1,896 acres (including the golf course) for $52 million at a May 2009 foreclosure auction.) has decided to continue with Billy Casper Golf. The golf club management company was able to double the number of annual golf club members each of the past two years.
The cooperation started in 2010, when Magnolia Green Golf Club was just a 9-hole golf course. The golf course will unveil 18 holes on 2 June. The construction of the 9 new holes began in March 2014 and was mostly complete by November 2014. It was a $3 million project.
After the completion it will be a par-72, 7,150-yard golf course (Jack Nicklaus design, Tom Clark layout). They also plan to add triple-tier driving range, fairway bunkers, massive putting green and short game area.
