After a long list of other professional golfers, Henrik Stenson is ready to try his best in golf course architecture. Will his almost 20 year experience (he became a professional golfer in 1998) be enough to contribute significantly to golf course design?
The Swedish professional golf Henrik Stenson today announced the debut of Henrik Stenson Golf Design, a global golf course design business. The company will be based out of Orlando, Florida with a European office located in Sweden.
Henrik Stenson has engaged Christian Lundin, partner architect at global design practice (re)GOLF, as his lead architect. Lundin is an associate member of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects. He expects from this cooperation that (re)GOLF will be able to expand globally.
Stenson's first design project will be: a 36-hole redevelopment of Österåker Golf Club, located outside Stockholm, Sweden. Österåker Golf Club is an existing 45-hole golf course that is planning a complete makeover during the coming years. Henrik Stenson Golf Design has been carefully selected to execute the entire process.
