Early this year, I have already written about that the PGA Catalunya Resort has enhanced its portfolio of rental properties by over 70% to include a larger mix of luxurious family houses, golf-fronted semi-detached villas.
Most recently, PGA Catalunya Resort has confirmed the opening of a new 5-star hotel, the Hotel Camiral in June following an investment of €33 million. The new hotel has been created by the interior designer Lazaro Rosa-Violán. The 149-room luxury hotel will combine contemporary design with striking urban-chic interiors to complement the modern, low-density development.
The new hotel is part of that investment program that started in 2010 when PGA Catalunya Resort upgraded its Stadium Course by changing the grass type to Bermuda grass. Thanks to the launch of the hotel, PGA Catalunya Resort will have 3 new dining options, including the new á la carte 1477 restaurant, a lounge bistro, and a poolside bar.
David Plana, PGA Catalunya Resort’s CEO, said: “The hotel is the first element of our three-year, €53 million development plan, which will also see a new vineyard, sports facilities, an equestrian centre and a man-made recreational lake added to the resort – all of which underline our continued commitment to ensuring PGA Catalunya Resort maintains its status as a leading global golf destination.”
PGA Catalunya Resort‘s Hotel Camiral will succeed if they are able to demonstrate their individuality and uniqueness to the guests (not just in design). The big question is how will they inspire loyalty. To achieve these goals personalization of services will have a big role. In a previous post, I have already recommended the usage of so-called “companion mobile applications”.
What services could make PGA Catalunya Resort’s Hotel Camiral unique?
Let me give you some examples of “companion mobile applications” from the leading hotel chain Hilton that can definitely improve customer experience and contribute to loyalty and repeated purchase:
- “Digital Keys” (for Hilton HHonours members) – you can book your room, check-in and access your room via the mobile application. Hilton is not the only hotel brand that provides such service. We can find similar mobile application solutions at Starwood and Marriott as well.
- “Tru by Hilton” mobile application help you to build your complimentary breakfast and access mobile check-in.
In addition to the above-mentioned innovations, I think it is a question of time when we as a guest will be able to choose our hotel rooms.
