How do you communicate safety measures at your golf club?

By: May 12, 2020

Yesterday the British government gave clarification on outdoor recreation and rules on social distancing in England:

  • Individuals playing golf on their own.
  • Two-balls comprising of individuals from different households.
  • At the discretion of the golf club, members of the same household playing in two, three or four-balls.

The new rule also says social distancing rules must be strictly adhered to at all times. These rules are valid from 13 May.

At the same time, in the US, 91% of golf courses are open. The National Golf Foundation predicts that from this Sunday 95% of the American golf clubs will be open.

In my interviews and guest articles, we could read that leading golf clubs pay attention to effective communication (e.g. The Els Club, Dubai) and safety measures.

ARC, a global signage company and specialist providers of health and safety collateral, has created a special signage solution ready for implementation across golf clubs worldwide.

The business has been providing vital safety and social distancing signage and associated safety visuals for UK Critical Infrastructure Services since the introduction of nationwide lockdown measures.

This allows businesses, now including golf clubs, to be fully compliant with the UK Government’s safety and social distancing guidelines.

Due to the fluidity of the current imposed safety measures, the service offered enables compliant updates and revisions to be applied as and when required, and in line with recommendations.

On request, interested clubs can obtain a free consultation via video conference, followed by an on-site survey. There are gold, silver, and bronze golf club packages available depending on requirements.
