These days when we start to see the light at the end of the tunnel, many of us start thinking where and how can people feel recharged, improve their wellbeing and last but not least, play golf and be amongst other golfers in a safe way.
We can all agree that being quarantined for such a long period of time can somehow affect our mental health too. Therefore, I believe that golf clubs & resorts with wellness facilities and wellbeing services have great potential to help us all.
Nearly 1,500 thermal water wells are in Hungary
Did you know that no less than 80% of Hungary’s territory has some form of thermal water underground – a quality only rivalled by Japan, Italy, and France? With nearly 1,500 thermal water wells of over 270 types of certified mineral and thermal water, Hungary is a thermal water “superpower” – the country boasts no less than 98 certified health spas.
I am sure I do not need to explain Hungary’s excellent location for European golf travelers.
Zala Springs Golf Resort – wellness center
The Hungarian Zala Springs Golf Resort (with a Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed championship golf course; Central Europe’s first luxury resort) is planning to open its Wellness Centre in October 2020. This is a 2 million Euros investment. I am incredibly happy to find out that the resort truly cares for golfers’ & residents’ wellbeing and health.
It will be a 450 square meter residential spa (with an outdoor swimming pool: 100 sqm: 16*6m) where maximum cca. 110 guests of the resort can enjoy the thermal water and wellness services (e.g. sauna, spa, relaxation rooms, green bar, recreation treatments for golfers, etc.) at the same time.
Zala Springs Golf Resort is committed to a healthy lifestyle. In the ‘green bar’ they will offer healthy drinks and food. If you are a vegan eat Paleo, must eat gluten and lactose-free food & drink or prefer low carb and clean food, you will find it all here.
The spa area was designed by the architecture firm Archikon, under the lead of Ybl-Award-winning Csaba Nagy and Károly Pólus. Not long ago, the company was actively involved, amongst other projects, in the reconstruction of the Párisi udvar (a member of the „The Unbound Collection by Hyatt” hotel chain) in Budapest.
Even a Finnish sauna specialist was hired to create an authentic sauna experience.
I have been informed that only the resort hotel guests, golfers, and apartment owners will be able to use the Zala Springs Wellness Centre.
In addition to the 18-hole, internationally-certified quality golf course a luxury residential development (e.g. penthouses, 1-3-bedroom apartments, exclusive studio apartments) is also taking place inside the Zala Springs Golf Resort project.
The Investors behind the project aim at creating the number one golf club and golf village in Hungary.
It is a fantastic idea to launch a Wellness Centre within Zala Springs Golf Resort, so guests don’t need to travel outside to be able to enjoy a premium thermal bath experience.
If although you wish to visit Lake Hévíz, the world’s largest biologically active natural thermal lake, you only need to drive half hour to get there.
If you are looking for the ideal place to recover after the COVID-19 lockdown and enjoy a golf break in a wonderful area, then do not forget to add Zala Springs Golf Resort to your bucket list.
