How does EcoBunker help revitalize Skylark Golf & Country Club?

Before I get into the details, I cannot neglect the adventurous history of the Skylark Golf & Country Club (previous name: Quinn Dell). Just Develop It Limited (JDI; a global investment company based in Hampshire, UK) acquired the club in 2013.

JDI invested:

  • a new pro-shop and sports bar, along with improvements made to the gym and spa facilities.
  • turned it to a premier wedding and event venue on the South Coast. Hosting 140-150 weddings per year.

JDI sold its entire issued share capital of Skylark Golf & Country Club Limited (750 members) to the Time GB Group after 7 years in May 2021.

Thanks to the installation of synthetic edging system EcoBunker over several years, now Skylark Golf & Country Club is reaping the results.

The ‘normal’ EcoBunker method wasn’t enough for Skylark. To reduce the bunker maintenance still further, EcoBunker CEO Richard Allen devised a new add-on, named EcoEdge – which sees top-quality artificial grass, backed with rubber, used as a rim for the bunkers.

Compared to the usual EcoBunker Advanced methodology, where natural grass is planted on top of the synthetic edge, this obviously reduces the maintenance requirement for bunker edging still further.

Skylark Golf & Country Club is the first club in the world to use the EcoEdge system.
