This summer marks an important milestone as Tewkesbury Park celebrates its amazing 10-year transformation into one of the top golf resorts in the UK!

Between 2016 and 2018, Tewkesbury Park underwent a two-year, £9m facelift. In 2018, the owner—the McIntosh family—said that the 93-room luxury hotel, spa, and golf course now offers a complete golf break with outstanding accommodation.

Tewkesbury Park 10th anniversary

Here are some of the important changes at Tewkesbury Park in the last decade:

  1. Dozens of bunkers on the Frank Pennink-designed golf course (6,579 yards, Par 73 18-hole golf course) have been refurbished. Designer Peter McEvoy and agronomist John Clarkin remodeled and reconditioned the course.
  2. Tewkesbury Park invested in a full range of new Toro machinery to help raise playing surfaces to the highest standard.
  3. new Golf Boutique shop provides all the golfing essentials, brand-new Golfer Locker Rooms, a 6-hole Academy Course + 2 separate practice areas, and a putting green.
  4. The hotel’s indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and outdoor hot tub have all been refurbished. Two new spa treatment rooms feature fresh treatments using locally sourced, naturally-inspired, and chemical-free Natural Spa Factory products. In addition, the hotel’s newly-equipped Gym will keep you in trim.
  5. New meetings and events facilities capable of hosting up to 300 participants.

The family invested in refurbishing their 18-hole Deerpark golf course to such a standard that it now hosts national PGA tournaments and is regularly included deep inside UK & Ireland Top 100 Golf Resorts lists.

The debut of the hotel’s exquisite new Cotswolds meetings & events suite in 2017 has garnered significant recognition for Tewkesbury Park.

In its 2023 Awards for Excellence, Conde Nast Traveller recognized it as the top meeting and conference venue in the UK.

The Sunday Times named recently Tewkesbury Park as one of the UK’s Top 100 Hotels – one of only four golf resorts to make the list.

Today, Tewkesbury Park employs around 140 team members.

Tewkesbury Park – sustainability

In response to the escalating energy costs impacting the hospitality industry in 2023, the McIntosh family devised a comprehensive strategy to mitigate these operational challenges while concurrently advancing sustainability efforts through a transition away from oil-based energy sources.

A complete revamp of Tewkesbury Park’s energy production process followed, with the introduction of combined heat and power turbines.

These generators now provide electricity for the entire resort, utilizing the heat by-product for hot water and heating purposes. The project was a great success.
