Troon has been selected to manage Woodholme Country Club, a member-owned private club in Pikesville, Maryland, northwest of Baltimore.
Troon Privé, Troon’s private club operating division, will manage club operations, agronomy, food and beverage, and membership sales and marketing.
Founded in 1927, Woodholme Country Club features an 18-hole golf course designed by Herbert Strong. Golf course architect Ed Ault renovated it in the mid-1960s and again in the mid-70s.
The course plays to a unique par of 73, ranging from 5,503 to 7,226 yards, with holes meandering over natural terrain with minimal earth movement.
The course has hosted several high-profile events, including
- the Maryland State Amateur Championship,
- the Maryland Senior Open Championship,
- USGA Women’s Open qualifying,
- the USGA Mid-Amateur,
- as well as three USGA Amateur qualifiers.
In addition to golf, Woodholme Country Club members also enjoy a timeless 50,000 square-foot clubhouse that boasts classical elegance and modern conveniences with casual dining in The Grille and The Café.
Amenities include 8 Har-Tru tennis courts, 12 new pickleball courts, and a resort-style pool with Olympic-style lanes.
The Woodholme campus also includes satellite golf, tennis, and quick-service dining buildings.
