Recently I came across with an interesting article in The Economist (Golf tournaments: Do they make economic sense?) that discusses the benefits of golf tournament sponsorship. As we know American is still not in the best shape and cannot be sure when can we say the recession is over. Golf is still not a mass sport like football. So companies should think over do they need to strengthen their image via golf tournament sponsorship and how can they monetize their investment. If I am a insurance company like in the article how can I generate new leads and new contacts for future actions. If I am a watch maker how can we shorten the way to purchasing? Do we utilize mobiles?? Charity was one reason to organize golf tournament. But, do we still have enough money to donate for different good causes??
