The Leading Golf Courses of Europe (LGCE), a corporation representing some of the continent’s most distinctive clubs, has joined forces with Europe’s leading golf-specific mystery shopper service, 59Club. LGCE runs more than 35 individual member clubs – including Monte Rei, Turnberry Resort and Thracian Cliffs.
The motivation of Leading Golf Courses of Europe (Zürich-based) is clear. They want to provide the highest quality and become a stamp of quality assurance at the same time. This sounds very marketing for me.
59Club’s bespoke ‘performance analysis tool’ will be used to measure the performance of each every golf course. Personally, I would set The Belfry as the benchmark for these golf clubs. The Belfry won 2x the 59Club Awards in the near past.
It is a nice try to challenge competitor golf club management companies like Troon Golf, IMG Club Services. However the little devil inside me says there can be a huge gap between customer service measurement and implementation of changes. So the beneficiary of this cooperation is definitely 59Club, who will be able to expand its operation in continental Europe.
