The Els Club Teluk Datai (managed by Troon) is constantly surprising me. First, they were not able to open the golf club on time (it was opened in November 2014).
After a not so smooth start, The Els Club Teluk Datai received 2 awards (Asia’s best new golf course 2014″; “World’s best golf course 2014”) at the World Golf Awards in the very same year. In 2015, in the very same competition, the golf club was selected as “only” “Malaysia’s best golf course 2015“.
What more can The Els Club Teluk Datai wish?
The Els Club Teluk Datai has been named amongst Golf Digest’s esteemed World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses rankings in the 2016/2017 edition. In addition to this, the Malaysian golf tourism is growing. Malaysia’s golf tourism revenue in 2014 was RM312 million (= $72,733,376.23) while in 2013 it was RM305 million.
