Troon has been selected to manage the golf operations at Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond, Oregon. Troon Golf, the resort and daily-fee management division of Troon, will oversee golf operations, agronomy, and sales and marketing for the resort’s two championship 18-hole par 72 courses, 18-hole executive course, and the 18-hole putting course.
In 2010, a joint venture comprising Northview Hotel Group and a subsidiary of funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, LP, acquired Eagle Crest Resort through a stock purchase of Jeld-Wen, Inc. Northview sold the Eagle Crest Resort in February 2018.
Originally developed in 1985, Eagle Crest Resort contains a 100-key hotel, 10,000 square feet of meeting space, a rental management program, three golf courses, two clubhouses, three sports/athletic centers, and a large and active residential community.
Eagle Crest Resort – key facts
Eagle Crest Resort is located in the high desert of Central Oregon and is set against the backdrop of the Cascade Mountains. The Gene Mason-designed Resort Course is adjacent to the resort and runs along the rim of the Deschutes River Canyon and throughout the original Eagle Crest housing development.
The 18-hole course plays to a par of 72 and measures 6,704 yards from the back tees.
The John Thronson-designed Ridge Course measures 6,927 yards as it threads its way through native juniper trees. The Ridge Course will host the Oregon Open Invitational, the state’s championship open to both amateur and professional golfers, in 2023.
The course previously hosted the prestigious event in 2006. The executive-length, par-63 Challenge Course is popular with beginners as it covers 4,160 yards. All three courses are open year around, weather permitting.
