Direct Golf chairman John Andrew receives PGA Award

By: October 10, 2014

After 30 years of service, owner and chairman of Direct Golf John Andrew was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Fellow’ of the Professional Golfers Association. This is actually a recognition of John Andrew's contribution to the golf retail business (30 years after 1st qualifying as a pro).

What we should know about the award and the title 'Fellow of the PGA' is, it is given only to those professionals who have made a visible contribution to golf, who have a history of ‘successes and achievements’ and display an ‘ongoing commitment to personal and professional development’.

John Andrew

Just recently I wrote about Direct Golf's cooperation with Tesco UK and Sports Direct are good visible example of how Direct Golf tries to make golf more affordable for many of us. And to forget their successful loyalty card program.

For those who can remember Direct Golf started with 1 small shop in Huddersfield. Now it has 20 retail outlets in the UK and a significant portion of the web and mail-order golf market.

Here I have to mention that not just John Andrew received this title, but also Ryder Cup legend Lee Westwood.
