Two years ago I highlighted that Callaway Golf used graphene its Callaway Chrome Soft golf ball. It seems like the graphene insert in the Dual SoftFast™ Core has worked well for Callaway Golf.
In the latest Callaway Chrome Soft golf ball, I found a larger graphene-infused Dual SoftFast Core. This helps to have a higher launch and lower spin.
Another innovation in the Callaway Chrome Soft golf ball is a new High-Speed Mantle System. From the new proprietary Inomer blend Callaway expects a more efficient energy transfer from the Dual SoftFast Core for faster ball speed.
The compounded additives improve consistency and durability, and the stiff mantle allows for an ideal spin on wedge shots.
The third interesting thing about the new Chrome Soft golf ball is the thinner and more resilient urethane cover.
The hoped-for benefits of the modified cover are
- increased ball speed and
- generating lower spin on full shots while maintaining high spin and soft feel around the green.
Callaway also optimized the aerodynamic design for longer distance and consistently higher ball flight.
The new Callaway Chrome Soft golf ball will be available from 3/12/20. The price will be $47.99 per dozen.
