The coronavirus inclines us to increase the sense of security of our golf club’s guests and members. We are already using with great confidence the PayPass solution for many years.

The need to change to digital scorecards

Speed is one of the reasons why contactless payment solutions are so popular. This time I don’t want to talk about contactless payment solutions, but rather about the need to change to digital scorecards.

I don’t really understand why it took such a long time to recognize the importance of digital scorecards.

At this moment you will be able to strengthen your market position by providing such value-based service to your guests and golf club members.

We must consider these 3 major needs:

  1. Safety & security (especially during COVID-19 and epidemics in general): not just for the tournament players but for the fans too;
  2. Convenience;
  3. Speed.

Golf Genius – contactless digital scorecard solution

Golf Genius’s contactless digital scorecard is not only providing safety, speed, and convenience, but you can eliminate the paper scorecards.

The Golf Genius digital scorecard removes the requirement for players to exchange physical scorecards in competitive rounds, instead providing a modern, contactless, and safe solution for tournament play.

Golf Genius has worked closely with the USGA to implement an approach that aligns with the Rules of Golf as an alternative to the paper scorecard.

When using the digital scorecard featurewhich can be turned on or off for specific tournaments – a tournament administrator can easily control who acts as the marker for each player.

When a golfer logs into the Golf Genius mobile app with a unique Golf Genius ID, the player will be able to record hole-by-hole scores for one or more other players, and can also record their own score.

At the end of the round, the players can view both the marker and the player’s scores to ensure that they align, and resolve any differences.

Both players can then use their unique Golf Genius IDs to sign and approve the final submitted electronic scorecard.
