What do the latest TaylorMade Golf P790 irons spare us?

It seems like SpeedFoam Technology has lived up to its promise. You will see below how it has changed in the 3rd generation TaylorMade Golf P790 irons. The first version of the SpeedFoam Technology has already appeared in the first generation of TaylorMade Golf P790 irons.

The 3rd generation of TaylorMade Golf P790 irons – changes

The all-new SpeedFoam Air, an ultralight urethane foam inside the forged hollow body construction, is 69% less dense than the prior generation. The SpeedFoam Air accounts for significant weight savings – an average of 3.5g in respective irons.

This change allows for a substantial redistribution of mass to lower CG placement and improved launch properties. Furthermore, it unlocked access to the thinnest face in P·790 history and allowed for the creation of an intelligent sweet spot

What makes it intelligent????

I am missing the use of sensors and artificial intelligence that could help golfers better understand their swing. As I recommended before golf club manufacturers move away from the product-focused business to customer-centricity.

The use of sensor technology could be a good direction toward customer-centricity. This is what Goodyear and Bridgestone are doing when they offer smart tires.

P·790 iron heads are crafted from an 8620 carbon steel that maintains strength and durability while allowing for a new thin-walled design – adding to the overall weight-saving benefits of SpeedFoam Air.

This re-engineered Forged Hollow Body Construction pairs with a responsive 1.5mm forged 4140 steel L-Face to promote supreme flexibility, fastball speeds, and distance while upholding a premium forged feel.

The sweet spot has been better aligned with the center face to naturally provide performance where golfers need it the most.

TaylorMade has further increased the amount of tungsten in the new TaylorMade Golf P790 irons. Heavy tungsten weighting, up to 31g in an individual iron head, is strategically positioned to deliver both stability and forgiveness.

I have not found any changes in the patented Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™.
