PwC is expecting an 8.7% growth in the Middle East over the next three to five years. This is the fastest growth in the world. Some experts explain this by the massive investment of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE): over $65bn on sports development.
According to the World Tourism Organisation (WTO), the Middle East and Africa region is also seen as the world’s fastest-growing sports tourism destination.
