Do we really take more golf breaks than in 2009?

International Golf Travel Market commissioned a survey about our core golfers' golf holiday habits. The research, conducted in September on behalf of IGTM by Sports Marketing Surveys Inc

They found the followings:

  • at least 50% of golfers in France (54%) and Germany (50%) take more golf breaks now than in 2009, while the figures for Sweden and the UK were 47% and 40% respectively.
  • Spain, is still the first choice of golf destination in each of the country’s surveyed with at least 30% of golfers from France (30%), Sweden (42%) and the UK (36%), having been to Spain for a golf break in the last 12 months. The #2 among the same people was Portugal.

At the same time PGA Catalunya Resort was awarded as '2015 Golf Resort of the Year for Europe' by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO). This year PGA Catalunya Resort celebrates the 15th anniversary of its Stadium Course. It was opened to the public in 1999.
