How can the Wisconsin Golf Tourism Week revive the golf tourism in Wisconsin?

By: June 16, 2022

The forecasts by WTTC and Oxford Economics say if the vaccine and booster rollout will continue at pace, then – it is not a dream – the tourism industry is likely to outperform 2019 levels ($1.87 trillion) by over 6%: $2 trillion.

Another interesting finding of this study:

U.S. domestic travel and tourism spending is projected to reach over $1.1 trillion for the year, surpassing pre-pandemic levels by 11.3%. International traveler spending in the U.S. could see a growth of $113 billion, compared to 2020, reaching almost $155 billion—slightly below (14%) 2019 levels.

The Wisconsin Golf Tourism Week

The Wisconsin Golf Tourism Week will be held from 16th to 23rd of September and will try to take advantage of this trend. The event is the first international golf tourism event of the Golf Tourism Network.

It will be held at SentryWorld, Wisconsin (see pictures below), home to the 2023 US Senior US Open.

The Wisconsin Golf Tourism Week is an invitation-only event and will showcase Wisconsin to both domestic and international golf travel and leisure travel companies from within the Golf Tourism Network looking to experience and learn how to sell one of North America’s most talked-about golf destinations.

The week-long program features both Pre and Post FAM offerings to discover golf across the state, whilst giving opportunities to meet with the wider Wisconsin supplier industry in an informal meeting setting.

Danny Seal Managing Director of The Golf Tourism Network commented:

“Wisconsin has more golf courses inside the Top 100 courses than virtually every other state but is still relatively undiscovered to International golfer so inviting the world’s best travel companies to experience everything the state has to offer will quickly accelerate its growth.”

The host venue: SentryWorld

The host venue, SentryWorld is Wisconsin’s premier parkland golf course and the host site of the 2023 U.S. Senior Open. An iconic Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed course with a rich history, SentryWorld blazed the trail as Wisconsin’s first destination golf course.

In 2022, SentryWorld raised the bar again, introducing a relaxed (20-minute tee intervals), fully inclusive experience.

Two new on-course refreshment stations offer locally curated food and beverage options, all included in the green fees – which also cover a GPS-equipped golf cart and all gratuities.

The Inn at SentryWorld completes a memorable, first-class stay-and-play experience.
