Channels Golf Club is planning to expand its operations by adding a 18-hole golf course at Little Waltham near Chelmsford. The new golf course is planned by Swan Golf Designs. The construction on the course will begin in April – with the new-look 6,670-yard, par-72 Channels course fully open by 2017.
William Swan said that the new golf course is planned for "golf in the 21st century". What does it mean? Facilitating mobile technology? More environment friendly? Lower maintenance costs? What is sure that the new golf course will have more water and buggy paths.
The golf course – which will be immediately to the north of the current site – will feature 13 new holes, while five from the existing design will be adapted to complete the lay-out.
Swan Golf Designs will keep 18 holes open at all times in order to minimize disruption to the club's large membership.
