I must admit that last week when I played at the Royal Maxx Golf Club in Belek, Turkey, it was the first time when I played with Nike Golf clubs (Nike Golf SQ Sumo 5000) and golf balls (Nike Golf SFT golf balls). This is why I thought it can be interesting to investigate closer Nike Golf’s new Vapor Fly golf clubs.
See details below…
Nate Radcliffe, Nike Golf Director of Engineering believes that if they can launch the ball higher while managing spin, it will ultimately fly farther.
Vapor Flex 440 Driver (see picture above)
- 440cc Pear-shaped
- FlexLoft: Independent adjustability of loft (8.5°, 9.5°, 10.5°, 11.5°, 12.5°) and face angle (Neutral, Left and Right)
- FlexFlight technology features a RZN tube with a high-density weight on one end — flipping the tube allows golfers to further optimize launch conditions by impacting launch angle, spin rate, forgiveness and workability.
- RH and LH
- Shaft: MRC Diamana S+ Limited 60 (X, S, R)
- Grip: Golf Pride Z-Grip • $499.99
More than 60% of the club is built from carbon fiber reinforced RZN, a proprietary material that Nike uses in both clubs and golf balls. The strong material that allows for even more weight to be repositioned forward and down for adjustability and forgiveness.
Vapor Fly Pro Driver
- 460cc Pear-shaped
- crown of the driver is lighter by 30% versus last year’s model;
- HyperFlight face is thinned out around the perimeter (similar solution can also be found in Callaway Golf’s Big Bertha Alpha 815 driver)
- FlyBeam Reinforced Covert Cavity Back dramatically stiffens the chassis while redistributing weight to the heel and toe for maximum impact efficiency.
- FlexLoft: Independent adjustability of loft (8.5°, 9.5°, 10.5°, 11.5°, 12.5°) and face angle (Neutral, Left and Right)
- RH and LH
- Shaft: MRC Diamana S+ Blue Board 60 (X, S, R); and MRC Diamana D+ White Board 60 (X, S)
- Grip: Golf Pride Z-Grip • $399.99
Vapor Fly Irons (see picture below)
- #4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, P, A, S (RH and LH)
- Hollow Cavity long irons (4, 5, 6, 7), RZN Pocket mid irons (8, 9, P), RZN Cavity short irons (A, S)
- Lightweight RZN: enables more mass to be distributed lower and deeper
- Shaft: True Temper ZT 85 (S, R), and UST Mamiya Recoil 400 Series (460-‐F4, 460-‐F3, 460-‐F2, 450-‐F1)
- Grip: Golf Pride Z-‐Grip
- $799.99; $899.99 w/UST Mamiya Recoil 400 Series shaft
