In July I wrote about how Ojee Golf’s Talon is using crowdfunding (on INDIEGOGO) to finance product development. Ojee Golf set then a 60-day crowdfunding target of £20,000. Now they can be satisfied as they reached £21,000.
According to my sources Ojee Golf will use this money for the first 500-unit production run. The first Talon will be available in November. I think it is meaningful that Ojee Golf has already sold 20% of the planned product units.
It is good to hear about golf companies and golf clubs who are using crowdfunding to achieve their goals (e.g. Powell Golf Club, Golfalong, Fraserburgh Golf Club (Scotland), Rushe Golf/GolfPosturePOD, GolfCity (Germany), Game Golf, Golf Data Systems LLC etc.).
Crowdfunding market grew by 167% in 2014. Crowdfunding platforms raised 16.2 billion USD in 2014.
