Sensor technology in PING’s SS20 Men’s Performance Apparel Collection

By: March 10, 2020

When I first read about PING‘s SS20 Men’s Performance Apparel Collection I was happy to find that they developed a Sensor Technology Platform.

After a while, I had to realize that it is not about sensor-infused golf apparels rather a system that ensures the range meets the demands of the game, so that golfers can perform at their highest level, whatever the weather.

Just to circle back to our main topic, a key component of the Sensor Platform is Sensor Cool technology.

It provides a focus for the Spring/Summer season, offering moisture-moving, quick-dry, crease-resistant, and stretch properties.

PING SS2020 Men's Performance Apparel Collection with sensor technology

The Sensor Cool Cotton, engineered with technologically advanced COOLMAX® fabrics, continues into the new season collection.

Leading styles deliver the exceptional softness expected from cotton-based shirts, while lasting performance is guaranteed by COOLMAX® fibers moving moisture away from the body, keeping the skin temperature low and enabling the wearer to feel cooler and more comfortable during the round.

The men’s collection centers around the Tranquil Coast color story, which is split into three key themes

  1. Grasshopper Green/Mint;
  2. Blue Water/Lagoon Falls;
  3. Asphalt/Sunset Gold.

Providing a stylish on-course look, the themes can be combined for impactful color blocking, or worn with neutrals for a more contemporary, trans-seasonal look.

PING SS2020 Men's Performance Apparel Colection Carbon-polo-green sensor technology

New for SS20, the Carbon polo (see above) features an engineered vertical Jacquard design to the upper front body, as well as a stylish contrast color rib placket and concealed button-down collar.

Other bold designs featured in the new polo shirt range are the Linear Jacquard and Spencer polos, with both featuring moisture movement, quick-dry, crease-resistant, and stretch properties, which are key benefits of PING Sensor Cool technology.

Price: 80 €

What I am missing from PING‘s latest collection are sustainable materials (e.g. organic and natural fibers) like in Glenmuir’s Autumn-Winter 2020 Collection.

In 2020, we cannot ignore the fact that the fashion industry has a very negative impact on the environment.

This is indispensable to impress Millennials & Generation Z too who not simply environment conscious but value-driven.
