Do we really need Vokey WedgeWorks Low Bounce K Grind wedges?

I already reported to you in February about the new Vokey SM9 wedges, Vokey’s most versatile, accurate, and forgiving yet. I mention this here at the beginning because the new Vokey WedgeWorks Low Bounce K Grind wedges are utilizing the SM9 technology.

The SM9 K Grind has 14 degrees of bounce and is great for steep swings and soft conditions, while the Vokey WedgeWorks Low Bounce K has 6 degrees of bounce and is great for shallow swings and firm fast conditions.

Forward Center of Gravity progression – The CG has been raised vertically by adding weight to the topline design, where a tapered pad at the back of the toe helps align the CG properly without being visible from the playing position.
New patented spin milled process for maximum spin – A new spin milled cutting process in the SM9 models – which includes tightening our allowable tolerances – produces consistently sharper grooves wedge after wedge, resulting in higher, more consistent spin.

Bob Vokey says

Several players preferred the K grind sole but were seeking a lower bounce version. As a result, we crafted a sole with 6° of effective bounce, while maintaining the wide camber that makes the K design so effective for a wide variety of players.
