Where are the sustainable materials in the PING AW24 men’s collection?

By: February 1, 2024

In recent years, when I bought new golf apparel, I discovered the following sustainable materials in them: recycled plastics, organic cotton, recycled cotton, recycled merino, and rarely cupro (vegan alternative of silk).

Do not underestimate the fact that modern consumers are savvy and curious. They want to know more about the function, origin, and sustainability of items in their golf apparel too.

I have got the impression that the designers of the new PING AW24 men’s collection focused on playability + be breathable + be waterproof.

In my interpretation, those golf apparel is attractive that can inspire, motivate, and generate a natural boost of energy, plus can transition from athletic pursuits to daily life (see athleisure trend).

Now, let’s see what the PING AW24 men’s collection has to offer!

The Taran 3L Jacket leads the range as the ultimate in waterproof protection and is engineered for optimal playability in wet weather.

Constructed in a three-layer stretch woven fabric to provide superior waterproof (20,000mm) and breathability (20,000 g/m2).

Crafted from a single panel, the new innovative seam-free construction to the underarm allows greater overarm lift for enhanced playability, allowing golfers optimum freedom of movement during the swing.

The inner layer features an exclusive PING print that creates a feeling of comfort next to the skin, whilst this waterproof also comes with a limited five-year warranty.

Joining the range and representing an expansion of the Graphene technology already explored in PING’s previous AW ranges, is the Levan Graphene Jacket.

The Graphene technology provides heat retention properties for enhanced thermoregulation in cold weather, with long-lasting comfort regardless of changing conditions. It’s designed with timeless appeal and packed with technical features for peak performance on the golf course.

Constructed using Graphene yarn and knitted into a honeycomb pattern to provide a soft lining for enhanced comfort, this high-performance fabric provides superior water and wind resistance, offering golfers the perfect non-padded alternative to their choice of outerwear.

PING continues to redefine the future of insulated outerwear through their renowned Norse Series – a new lineup of impressive garments all engineered with market-leading PrimaLoft® insulation that is perfectly suited to excel in winter conditions.

Designed for the coldest days, the Norse S6 Jacket sees a notable reduction in the sleeve bulk to ensure golfers can swing freely and confidently on the course, whilst the stitch-free quilted ThermoPlume® technology to the front body helps eliminate the exposure to wind, adding next-level warmth to this performance golf jacket.

The Norse S6 Hooded Jacket is engineered for core warmth and wind resistance, thanks to stitch-free quilted PrimaLoft® ThermoPlume® to the front and back body. Its contemporary design also features an improved hood for a modern fit and silhouette.

With its multi-purpose protection and core insulation, this is the perfect trans-seasonal jacket to protect golfers throughout the seasons and varying on-course conditions.

New for this year, the Firth joins the choice of outerwear, designed with a sporty and contemporary aesthetic for superior playability on the course.

The Astle, featuring a mini textured pattern to the fleece sleeves and sleek rubber trims designed with clean, seamless detailing, provides a contemporary look for those looking to add a modern touch to their outfit.

With the addition of a water-resistant finish to this cozy brushed-back stretch fleece, it’s the perfect mid-layer for winter golf.

The range of knitwear continues to broaden with the addition of the Cranford hybrid knit sweater and Murphy, a fully lined zip sweater.

Both sweaters are crafted from Merino Wool, engineered for complete warmth and comfort. The Cranford features smart contrast woven panelling, whilst the Murphy provides directional rib detailing to elevate their style, seamlessly transitioning from on to off-course appeal.
