What will make the 2024 Porsche Singapore Classic so memorable?

By: January 10, 2024

In the year 2024, it is hoped that the organizers of golf tournaments will place a greater emphasis on sustainable practices and align sports marketing strategies with social responsibility.

Achieving this objective would require a concerted effort on the part of all stakeholders involved in the golf industry, including organizers, sponsors, and players.

By integrating sustainable practices into the organization of golf tournaments, the sport can significantly promote environmentally conscious behaviors and contribute to a more sustainable future.

This is why I appreciated Hero Dubai Desert‘s sustainability efforts. They earned the GEO Certified Tournament status.

Golf tournament organizers should better utilize technologies to make the venue smarter and more responsive.

We should take advantage of sensors, data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence better to facilitate fan loyalty and golf sponsorship lucrative for brands (e.g. Porsche) and rights holders.

The global sports technology market size was valued at USD 13.14 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.8% from 2023 to 2030 (Source: Grand View Research).

The 2024 Porsche Singapore Classic – details

The professional golf involvement in Southeast Asia complements the present worldwide activities in customer sport revolving around the Porsche Golf Cup and the Porsche Golf Circle.

The Porsche Singapore Classic will be played for the first time under its new name at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club (Singapore) from 21 – 24 March 2024.

The extension of the golf involvement to the important Asian market with a focus on Southeast Asia, Korea and Japan opens up the opportunity to enhance international visibility in the golfing environment.

Thailand is Porsche’s largest market in Southeast Asia. Europe is Porsche’s largest market, followed by the US and China, which are almost equal in volume for the brand.

It simultaneously interconnects the worldwide involvement revolving around the Porsche Golf Community with the activities in professional golf.

The aim of the new partnership is to develop the tournament that took place for the first time last year in the spring.
