I am suspicious of this great silence around the 2023 Ryder Cup (from 25 September to 1 October 2023, at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, just outside Rome.). Does it seem to you too?
Are the hosts ready to host the 2023 Ryder Cup?
It’s now official that Hilton has been named the Worldwide Partner of the 2023 Ryder Cup, a significant upgrade from their previous role as the Official Hotel Supplier for the event.
This new partnership agreement with golf’s greatest team contest further strengthens Hilton’s strong ties with the game.
The company has been an Official Partner of the DP World Tour since 2022, and Luke Donald, the Captain of the 2023 European Ryder Cup team, is a Hilton Ambassador.
In addition to providing accommodation to Ryder Cup players and staff at Rome Cavalieri, a Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Hilton is also expecting to benefit from global brand exposure through co-created, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
Hilton will be launching a Ryder Cup edition of their award-winning “A Stay on the Green by Hilton” experience that has already proved so successful at select DP World Tour events.
Hilton Honors members will have exclusive access to use their Points to book the unique opportunity of staying in a specially constructed Hilton room next to the 10th green at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club.
Hilton will also enjoy significant on-course branding at the tournament and on global television broadcasts and sponsor digital content campaigns on Ryder Cup social media channels throughout 2023.
My comments
How Hilton will train its employees to serve guests has not been discussed so far. In the case of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Mandarin Oriental Paris has hired a team of experienced professionals to train its staff.
I would give the staff language training to enable them to communicate effectively with international guests too.
I have some exciting news regarding Hilton! The respected organization Grace Place to Work has ranked Hilton as the third-best workplace in the United States for 2022. Based on their survey results:
“97% of employees at Hilton say it is a great place to work compared to 57% of employees at a typical U.S.-based company.”
From this, I dare to assume that if the employees in their European hotels also have a similar opinion, they will most likely be able to provide an excellent customer experience.
What are Hilton’s sustainability efforts? The Ryder Cup is cooperating with the GEO Foundation to achieve its sustainability goals.

“Looking towards 2023, all stakeholders are seeking to achieve even more across venue; transportation; energy; water; circular use of materials; carbon reduction and mitigation; legacy projects; and fan engagement.“
