Last year Gamble Sands (located in Brewster, Wash.) launched the David McLay Kidd-designed QuickSands Course a 14-hole short course. The 18-hole Sands Course opened for play in 2014 to widespread acclaim, with the 100,000 square foot Cascades putting course following shortly thereafter.
Now Gamble Sands tries to enhance the golf experience with another David McLay Kidd-designed 18-hole course.
Construction on the new course, which will be located north of the existing clubhouse, will begin this fall with an anticipated completion and a grand opening in summer 2025.
The new yet-to-be-named course adds to an already impressive collection of golf and hospitality amenities at Gamble Sands.
In addition to the new golf course, the Inn at Gamble Sands, the 37-room on-property lodge, will also be enhanced with 36 more rooms added (for a total of 73 rooms). A new food and beverage outlet will also be built to complement the current Danny Boy Bar and Grill.
The Inn at Gamble Sands features oversized rooms that match the wide-open nature of Gamble Sands, as big rooms open to the big golf course, framed by even bigger views that sweep across the Columbia River Valley.
Danny Boy Bar and Grill has large garage-style doors that roll open to outdoor dining options and more views of the Cascades and Columbia River Valley.
Gamble Sands is managed by Troon.
What will be with the driving range experience?
The National Golf Foundation says new golfers are eager to learn, and clubs are investing in new ways to keep them engaged and entertained. It is true regarding other golfers too.
Can a golf club like Gamble Sands afford not to utilize the popularity of driving range technologies like Toptracer to cater better to their guests and members?
The exciting new game mode puts players in 30 realistic virtual on-course scenarios and measures how successfully the player navigates them – providing a mountain of data in just 30 shots.
Wellness & wellbeing
The jaw-dropping view at Gamble Sands is really good for our mental well-being. However, we cannot afford not to help our guests and members achieve their physical well-being too.
